Mr Purnendu Basu, the Agriculture Minister, West Bengal, India has visited the Biodiversity Conservation Farm of Agricultural Training Centre, Fulia, Nadia, West Bengal on 25th Sept, 14. He was amazed to see the growth of organic rice with only azolla and water. It minimizes the cost of cultivation by half. We have now 300 folk rice varieties.After about a struggle of 14 years in folk rice conservation. the MIC visited the field and found an ideal alternative to chemical farming.It is the low cost organic farming and folk rice cultivation.
