Agricultural Training Centre, Fulia, Nadia , West Bengal has got a scheme under RKVY( Rastriya Krishi Bikash Yojona- National Agricultural Development Programme) through the Department of Agriculture, West Bengal for promotion of folk rice collection, conservation, demonstration, training and organic input supply to the farmers who have taken folk rice seeds from the centre and conserving( growing ) the crops.
The scheme will cover 11 districts , one block in each district total of 330 bighas( 1/ 7.5 ha) of folk rice under the scheme in Kharif 2015.
Its a maiden venture from the centre and its is the first of its kind in India in recent times.
The center has started along with my two colleagues conducting training in 3 North Bengal districts like Uttar Dinajpur, Jalpaiguri and Coocbihar from 19th August to 21 Aug 2015. The farmers were very much encouraged to continue the folk crops.
