MANAS , an organization has been working with mentally disturbed people for the last 33 years. Of      late they have realized that they can utilize their agricultural land through organic means. During the last three years they have been trying folk rice , collecting seeds from  Agricultural Training Centre, Fulia. Last year they have grown 56 folk rice varieties in their 3 acres of land. In 2013 they have transplanted 24 folk rice varieties and harvested it. They are eating folk rice now. In their annual festival on 5th Jan 2014, they have sold different folk rice varieties. They plan to extend the folk rice in the neighboring  villages. This is a praiseworthy venture indeed.
